As the RMS Olympic leaves New York Harbor, Thomas Sopwith, flying a modified Wright/Sopwith biplane, attempts to drop a package on board from the air. After aborting the first approach due to gusty winds, he dropped it on the second pass but the package, containing eye glasses for a passenger and other paraphernalia, fell into the sea.
